A former Lakeside Union school board member has taken a plea deal in a child sex case.
Travis Fugitt pleaded no contest Friday to charges of attempted unlawful sex with a minor.
Prosecutors dropped two other charges as part of the deal.
Fugitt, of Fugitt Farming and Harvesting, was a member of the school board at the time of the incident in 2021 when he used a dating app to arrange a meeting with someone he thought was 14.
The person he encountered at Fruitvale Norris Park was actually an undercover detective.
Sentencing is set for June 3.
