A woman accused of using bear spray at a business on Union Avenue, then leading police on a high-speed chase, has been arraigned on numerous charges.
Moenay Humphries, 24, of Los Angeles, pleaded not guilty Thursday to felony charges of using a tear gas weapon, burglary and recklessly evading peace officers.
Police were called out Tuesday to reports of a chemical assault at a store in the 800 block of Union Avenue where Humphries allegedly got in an argument with employees, grabbed a can of bear spray, and sprayed it into the store’s HVAC system.
Humphries allegedly fled along Highway 58 and northbound on Highway 99 and led cops on a chase topping 110 miles per hour.
Bail is set at $90,000. Humphries returns to court June 18.
