Tenille Arts was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan and named after the popular 1970’s husband and wife group, Captain and Tennille. Her name might have been the first indication she was destined for a future in music, but the bigger sign came when she was about six or seven years old.
“The story my mom loves to tell is that I was actually singing a Shania Twain song in my back yard, just belting it out, and my neighbor overheard me over the fence. She came over and told my mom she thought I had a good voice and maybe we should pursue it.”
Her mom signed her up for voice lessons and by the time she was 13 she got her first guitar and began writing songs and the rest…is the beginning of a very cool story.
