BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A Bakersfield woman accused in a high-profile drunk driving case will be sentenced Friday. Madison Williams, 29, was found guilty in October of DUI and other charges after running a stop sign at Taft Highway and Old River Road and crashing her Mercedes-Benz into a house in September 2022. The house burned to the ground, and a 21-month-old child and the child’s parents were injured. Williams’s blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit. The prosecution is seeking sixteen years in prison, but the defense is asking for felony probation. Williams owns a popular downtown wedding venue.Madison Williams Photo Courtesy KGET
