BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — One person is dead and two others are wounded following shootings at several locations in southeast Bakersfield.
Police responded around 11:10 a.m. Wednesday to reports of an assault with a gun at Chester W. Nimitz Street north of Panama Lane, where a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Then a call came in regarding a shooting at Hosking Avenue and Shannon Drive near Golden Valley High School, where the campus was placed on lockdown. The shooting was not connected to anything on campus, and no students or faculty were harmed. There’s no word on that person’s condition.
A third shooting victim, whose condition has not been revealed, was located in the 4100 block of Pioneer Drive.
Police say the incidents are likely connected, but they have no suspect descriptions, and no one has been arrested.
