BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A 27-year-old man wanted in connection to a deadly shooting in Oildale is now in custody.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday Steven Quick was arrested following the murder of Jason Hall outside the Long Branch Saloon on North Chester Avenue March 7, 2026.
Deputies found Hall dead at the scene after an argument inside the bar continued at a parking lot outside the saloon.
A vigil for Hall is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, outside the bar.
