BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A woman riding a scooter is dead following an accident in central Bakerfield.
Police responded at approximately 12:02 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, to the intersection of 4th and P streets, where the woman was struck as she was riding the electric scooter westbound in the north crosswalk of 4th Street. She was struck by a northbound green Honda minivan.
The driver, an adult male, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Driver impairment is not a factor in the collision.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
