BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A preliminary hearing has begun for the former assistant basketball coach at Cal State Bakersfield who stands accused of sex charges.
Kevin Mays, 33, faces allegations of pimping, pandering, possession of child pornography, and drug- and gun-related offenses.
Eight witness testified Tuesday after Mays was arrested last September following accusations by a confidential informant that he had a woman prostituting herself and giving him her earnings.
A judge will decide whether there’s enough evidence for the case to move forward.
