BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Former California State University Bakersfield assistant basketball coach Kevin Mays will stand trial on sex charges.
A judge determined Wednesday the 33-year-old will face 11 charges including pimping and possession of child pornography. Prosecutors dismissed weapons and child porn charges.
Mays is accused of pimping out a woman for prostitution and keeping the money she earned for himself, among other allegations.
A trial date will be set at a hearing April 7, 2026.
