BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A Kern County man will spend more than a decade in prison for flying a drug-toting drone over North Kern State Prison in Delano.
Authorities say Jorge Narvaez, 28, piloted the drone carrying two balloons full of methamphetamine and dropped the dope into the prison yard in June 2024.
Officers recovered the balloons and confiscated over 21 grams of meth.
Narvaez tried a second flight the same day with three balloons filled with more than 49 grams of meth.
He was sentenced Friday to twelve years and seven months behind bars.
