BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Police respond to a fatal vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in east Bakersfield.
Officers found a woman with major injuries late Sunday night in the 600 block of Brundage Lane. She died at the hospital.
Investigators say a Ram pickup traveling eastbound struck the woman who was crossing northbound in an unmarked crosswalk.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated.
Police say neither impairment nor excessive speed appears to be factors.
The victim’s name will be released by the Kern County Coroner.
