BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Teachers in northwest Bakersfield are planning to rally Tuesday, October 13, over rising health care costs after negotiations with the Rosedale Union School District stalled.
The Rosedale Teachers Association said educators went from fully employer-paid health care to paying hundreds of dollars a month following stalled negotiations on Sept. 30.
Teachers, parents and community members plan to rally at 4 p.m. before the district’s school board meeting at Rosedale Middle School at at 12463 Rosedale Highway. They are urging the board to reach a contract agreement and address what the association describes as a shift in health care costs to educators.
