Oliver Family Files Claim Against District

The family of Taft Unified High School shooter Brian Oliver has filed a $5.5 million claim against the Taft Unified School District.

They allege not enough was done to protect Oliver from sexual harassment and bullying. A 16-year-old Oliver opened fire and seriously wounded classmate Bowe Cleveland at the school in January 2013.

Oliver is scheduled to be retried Jan. 26. His previous trial, where he faced two counts of attempted murder, ended in a hung jury last month.
