local zoo will be able to get a better look at animals

ST – The California Living Museum will be getting two X-ray machines from the Omni Family Health facilities in Wasco and Shafter. Animal Curator Don Richardson says when the first machine arrives in the next week, they will convert it to take and transmit digital images. “That gives us the opportunity to take care of not only our collection animals that are here, but all of the wildlife rehabilitation animals that come in.” Richardson says the machines are big enough to handle the zoo’s black bears. the second unit will be kept in storage after being converted to digital, which will cost around $20,000 for both machines.
