Schlumberger says the collapsing price of crude oil will force them to slash 9,000 jobs in 2015.

The layoffs come after the Houston-based company generated over $1.9 billion in earnings last quarter.

It’s not known how many positions will be cut in Bakersfield, where three Schlumberger offices are located.
