Three groups are joining forces to save a bird species native to the valley.

The Central Valley Business Times reports the Audubon Society, the Western United Dairymen and the USDA are starting a conservation effort to boost the population of Tricolored Blackbirds.

The bird gained California endangered species protections last year.
