The chairwoman of the Golden Empire Transit board has tendered her resignation after 15 years with the board.

The Bakersfield Californian reports Patricia Norris said she was stepping down Tuesday afternoon. Norris was the last remaining member of the board that was in place during the 34-day strike of unionized bus drivers and mechanics.
