The American Lung Association says California must do more to get people to stop smoking.

They gave the state failing grades prevention and for not taxing cigarettes enough. They also gave the state a poor grade for not having enough programs in place to get people to stop smoking.

Bakersfield received a failing grade. Several other locations in Kern County received poor grades.
