A Bakersfield man is denying claims that he put his arms around one woman and kissed a 15-year-old girl during a string of break-ins on the city’s southeast and southwest sides.

53-year-old Calvin Cartwright appeared in court Friday. He was jailed Wednesday after prosecutors say he tried to enter as many as 10 homes.
