An electrical short in a bedroom is being blamed for a fire at a double-wide mobile home in Bakersfield that forced a closure of Cottonwood Road at East Belle Terrace.

City firefighters were called to the residence minutes before 4 p.m. Friday. Damage is estimated at around $50,000.

No injuries were reported.
