BPD Looking For Man Who Sexually Battered Woman at Park

Police say they’re looking for a man wanted for sexually battering a woman after brandishing a knife at a southwest Bakersfield park.

They say he wrestled the victim to the ground while she was walking in Seasons Park, west of Harris and Stine roads, just after 9 p.m. on Jan. 18. She was knocked unconscious during the struggle.

According to a police press release, the woman was not sexually assaulted while unconscious.

The man is described as a 5-foot-7 man in his 20s with a heavy build. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black work boots, a black ski mask and a ring on his right hand at the time of the incident.

Those with more information are being urged to call Det. Francisco Esguerra at (661) 326-3870, or dispatchers at (661) 327-7111.
