Crashes on Highway 58 between Hart Flat and Highway 14 near Tehachapi were up last year.

The Tehachapi News reports 93 wrecks happened on the stretch in 2014, compared to 73 in 2013.

The highway segment is notorious for blind curves, black ice and wildlife crossings.
