Sheriff’s detectives have launched a homicide investigation after a man found unresponsive with gunshot wounds at a southeast Bakersfield street corner died over the weekend.

He was found Thursday night at Padre Street and Cottonwood Road, and died early Saturday morning at Kern Medical Center. His name has not been released.
