A sheriff’s homicide investigation is underway after the Kern County Coroner’s Office confirmed that a 45-year-old man found at Gilmore Avenue and Gibson Street in Bakersfield died from blunt-force trauma.

Johnny Hernandez was found at around 1 a.m. on Jan. 31.
