Two children are recovering from moderate-to-major injuries after being attacked by a family dog east of Delano.

Sheriff’s deputies say it happened just after 5 p.m. at a home on Kyte Road when the 7-year-old and the 8-year-old girls tried playing with the pit bull. The injuries are said to not be life-threatening.
