Cal State-Bakersfield baseball will begin its season Friday against defending Big East champion Creighton.

The Roadrunners are a preseason favorite to win the Western Athletic Conference and qualify for the NCAA tournament. The first game of the weekend series against the Bluejays starts at 6 p.m. at Hardt Field.
