Congressman Kevin McCarthy of Bakersfield has joined a bipartisan group that’s requesting an end to a labor dispute between dockworkers and shipping companies that has shut down nearly 30 ports along the west coast.

The House Majority Leader says the work stoppage will impair farmers in Kern County and throughout the country.
