The Kern County Grand Jury gave the Kern County Assessor and Recorder’s Office a mostly positive review, but says more needs to be done to alert people about property value changes.

Assessor Jon Lifquist says making the website more user friendly and high profile will help people get answers they are looking for.

“That was one of the things that I mentioned that I thought we could improve on during the campaign, and we are working on that particular finding from the recommendation,” he said.

The grand jury says the assessor’s office is doing a good job getting property taxes.
