Police in Bakersfield are investigating a failed robbery of the Wells Fargo bank on Panama Lane and Wible Road in south Bakersfield.

Sgt. Jeff Burdick says officers were called to the scene just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

“A white male in his 60s entered the bank, presented a note to the teller, then fled prior to receiving any loss,” he said.

Burdick says investigators aren’t sure where the man fled. He says they’re looking at surveillance footage to try to get a better idea.
