A Bakersfield man has been indicted for aiming a laser pointer at a Kern County Sheriff’s helicopter.

62-year-old Jose Rosas faces up to five years in prison and a fine if he’s convicted in federal court. Prosecutors say the laser strike harmed the pilot, who was forced to separate from a robbery investigation.
