Bakersfield will soon know the name of its new American Hockey League team.

The Bakersfield Condors will unveil the name during the first intermission of tonight’s 7 p.m. game against the Idaho Steelheads.

The AHL is just one step below the NHL, meaning that the Edmonton Oilers will send their top prospects to Bakersfield next season.
