City Checks In On Consolidated Plan

Bakersfield representatives visited Old Town Kern to gain some guidance on how to spend the $4 million the city gets annually from the federal government for housing and infrastructure.

Douglas McIsaac is the community development director for the city and says they’ve gained several ideas on how to spend the money so far.

“More outreach, more neighborhood facilities, more community facilities – parks, more affordable housing,” he said.

The meeting Thursday at an apartment complex on Baker Street was one of several geared at molding the city’s consolidated plan. The findings will be presented to city council in April.
