Kern Transit, the Kern Council of Governments and Golden Empire Transit representatives met with residents to discuss where they’d like to see future transit centers in the Bakersfield area.

Ruby Horta with Kern Transit says people who came to the downtown Beale Library on Thursday had ideas as to where they’d like to see new centers placed.

“The Amtrak station, because it’s one of the proposed high-speed rail sites, there’s also the F Street and Golden State site and CSU-B – I would say, based on the voting, that those are the three,” she said.

A feasibility study will be conducted next by the firm that’s conducting the study. A finished study will be presented to Kern COG and GET in June.
