Representatives with Cal State-Bakersfield say their new PEAK Labs will go a long way toward discovering how people move and how physical performance can be improved.

Kris Grappendorf is the chairwoman of the physical education and kinesiology department at CSU-B and says the facilities go a long way toward separating the school from other four-year universities in the San Joaquin Valley.

“We have an opportunity for CSU-B to represent this region,” she said. “So, there’s nothing else like this in this area.”

The facility includes a “Bod Pod” capsule that digitally senses body composition, and a neuromechanics lab that will be used to study movement.
