Stocks dropped Friday on fears that a Federal Reserve interest rate hike could be coming sooner than later.

The Dow fell 279 points, the Nasdaq lost 55 and the S&P gave up 30 points.

Crude oil futures lost over two percent, finishing at $49.61.
