Home prices in Bakersfield are rising again as the housing market emerges from its holiday off-peak season.

Affiliated Appraisers owner Gary Crabtree says February saw the biggest month-to-month increase since 2004.

“We saw a $20,000 increase in median price from $195,000 to $215,000 – that’s about 10.3 percent,” he said.

Crabtree says he’s expecting the market to remain stable. He also says it’s still too early to tell what type of impact lower oil prices will have.
