Court documents say the couple killed in a murder-suicide on De Colores Court in west Bakersfield were in the process of divorcing, and had been separated since February.

Divorce paperwork was filed Monday by 55-year-old Diane Carroll. Police believe 56-year-old Shawn Carroll shot his wife before shooting himself on Tuesday.
