The Kern County Coroner’s Office says a man found unresponsive at a home on Crawford and North Inyo streets in northeast Bakersfield died after being shot in the head.

Sheriff’s detectives have launched a homicide investigation following last Friday’s death of 28-year-old Jose Banales.
