Vin Scully Headlines “Voices of Inspiration” Event

The 66-year voice of Los Angeles Dodgers baseball entertained a big crowd at the Rabobank Theater in downtown Bakersfield for a good cause.

Vin Scully says he was drawn to headline the Hoffman Hospice “Voices of Inspiration” event.

“To be there to hug and to hold on – and then finally, after one leaves, there’s still there for those who are greaving – I’m surprised people at the hospice aren’t walking around with halos over their heads,” he said.

The Kern County-based non-profit raised over $300,000 from the event last year, which was used to help the terminally ill and their families.
