About 800 people made their way to the Rabobank Convention Center in downtown Bakersfield to learn about how to respond to dangerous situations involving chemicals.
Corine Schreck is the executive director of the Central Valley Chemical Safety Day, which was held on Thursday. She says there’s a need for people to know about the dangers of chemical use.
“It saves their lives, literally – their lives, the environment,” she said.
Dozens of exhibits were on display Thursday afternoon. Several workshops were also held at the Rabobank Theater.
