Ground has been broken on over $91 million in enhancements along two of Bakersfield’s busiest freeways.
City manager Alan Tandy says it’ll take about two years for crews to finish the Beltway Operational Improvements Project.
“This new project will further improve different segments by installing outside axillary lanes and some ramp and access improvements on 58 and 99,” he said.
County and city representatives on Friday also celebrated the completion of a $16 million project that added a third lane in both directions of Highway 58 between Hughes Lane and Cottonwood Road.
