Investigators with the Bakersfield Fire Department says children are responsible for a pair of weekend fires at eastside businesses near Sacramento and Kentucky streets.
Battalion chief Danny Brown says the first call came in at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
“We had video of three junior-highers or high-schoolers individuals on bicycles comes back to the rear of the property and lighting a fire,” he said.
The trio then set fire to a dumpster at another business nearby and have yet to be caught.
Brown says the boys could face arson charges and jail time.
Damage is estimated at $1,000. No injuries were reported.
