The man who died after overturning his water truck about 30 miles south of Lake Isabella on Caliente Creek Road has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as 32-year-old Vernon Vaughn III of Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol says he was killed at the scene before 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
