Police say the man accused of raping a southwest woman attempted to drown her in a bathtub before setting fire to the Tungsten Street home she was in.

22-year-old Adrian Hernandez is also accused of tying the victim up and drenching her in a flammable fluid before she escaped the home Friday morning.

A BB gun was found at the scene where Hernandez was shot by officers near Columbus Street that night after he led a chase from Hart Park.
