Heavy machinery work will force some temporary stoppages on Highway 178 near Morning Drive on the eastern edge of Bakersfield this week.

The Thomas Roads Improvement Program says drivers can expect flaggers to stop traffic for up to five minutes between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the area starting on Wednesday.
