Bakersfield police have named the SWAT officers that shot a man during a standoff at the northwest Vagabond Inn at Stockdale Highway and Interstate 5.

They’re identified as Kelly Williams and Daniel Champness, both of whom are on paid administrative leave.

36-year-old Robert Burdge died at a hospital after being shot at the motel on March 19. Burdge is accused of shooting a man in the stomach on Copa Cabana Court on March 18.
