County firefighters raised nearly $51,000 for cancer research during a “Fill the Boot” drive held in downtown and north Bakersfield.

The money gathered at 24th and F streets, Stockdale Highway and California Avenue and Olive and Knudsen drives will benefit the Kern County Cancer Fund.
