A baby who died after being found unresponsive on Sunset Canyon Drive has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as 13-day-old Madilyn Self.

Self was rushed from her home east of White Lane and Old River Road to Mercy Hospital just before 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Police have launched an investigation into the death as a matter of routine.
