The non-partisan Public Policy Institute of California has established a new center with the aim of getting better information on drought, flooding, and the water supply out to scientists and politicians.
Assistant director Caitrin Chapelle says there’s a need for quality information about water.
“The center has the goal of strengthening the bridge between policymakers and objective, rigorous research on some of the major water issues facing California,” she said.
Chapelle says PPIC is trying to help policymakers figure out how to best juggle water management with population growth and climate change.
