Police say a man is jailed after leading a 16-minute chase through south-central Bakersfield.
Detective Paul Bender said officers were watching 21-year-old Phillip Sacdalan outside of his home at Belle Terrace and Houchin Road just before 10 a.m. Friday.
“They were looking for a felony warrant suspect,” he said. “They located the individual getting into a vehicle – the officers attempted to stop the vehicle.”
Bender said Sacdalan was wanted for burglary, robbery and spousal abuse.
Police say the chase reached 55 mph, with Sacdalan driving the wrong way down several roads and avoiding a spike strip on L Street.
He surrendered at South Oleander Avenue and Shamrock Way.
